How to Enable Delivery Receipts in Outlook
Have you ever searched your Outlook Inbox looking for a reply to an important message you have sent? Wondering if the recipient actually received it? Wondering if the recipient has READ or even RECEIVED it yet?
Outlook has an option that will allow you to track when messages you have sent are delivered and read.
While you are composing a message, click Options on the toolbar. (You can also select the Tools, Options menu command.)
By checking 'Request a delivery receipt', you should get notification via email when your message is delivered to the recipient's mailbox.
By checking 'Request a read receipt', you should get notification via email when your message is actually opened.
NOTE: Some email systems will allow users to block the sending of delivery and read receipts for messages that they receive, so this is not always a sure fire bet. But generally speaking, you will be able to track the status of important messages with this quick and easy feature.
