I was sitting here this sunday afternoon thinking it would be cool to be able to put some of my videos I have on my pc and put them on my iphone.
After typing a couple of keywords into Google, have found a real nice converter which is very simple and works very fast at converting .wmv or .avi file into iphone or ipod compatible files.
I downloaded the free trial (5mb) which allows you to convert the first 3 minutes of your video without having to register. After trying that out and seeing how easy that was, I went back to the site, paid by paypal and had my software key immediately after checkout, so there was no waiting at all.
The programme itself is pretty simple, select what you want to convert by clicking the "add file" button, select the destination output file, click convert and the programme whizzes away.
You can even preform multiple conversion so if you have a bumch of videos you want to convrt, add all of them to the software, click convert and go off and have a coffee and when you come back, they will all be done!
It took about 15 minutes to convert a 700 MB .wmv file on my Asus U1 laptop which has 1.5gb of Ram so on a decent desktop PC with a bit more power, I would imagine that the conversion process will even be quicker.
